October 2019 – DIY SOS Comes To Corby

Nick Knowles and the team from BBC’s DIY SOS turned up in Corby to transform a family home and the AR Electrics team were only too pleased to be able to offer their support.

The works took just under 10 days thanks to the amazing generosity of the local community and has made the house more accessible for Jordan Hutchinson, who has cerebral palsy and epilepsy.

It was a really rewarding experience for our team, including apprentice Harvey Pullen (Pictured) on one of his first ever jobs.

The show will be broadcast on TV at a later date.

August 2019 – EICR Report Service

AR Electrics can provide Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICR) for homes and business, which are often required by insurance companies before cover can be provided.

The report will cover the consumer unit, wiring and electrical accessories, all of which will be thoroughly tested for faults. Faults can’t always be seen and so testing really does have a benefit and It is recommended that houses are tested every 10 years and businesses every 5 years.

February 2019 – Lot 20 Efficiency Directive

If you are considering an upgrade on your space heating products, it is important to be aware of the Lot20 Energy Efficiency Directive which came into force in 2018.

Legislation requires that all electric and gas space heaters manufactured for sale in the UK must comply with a minimum efficiency standard that supports carbon reduction targets.

Whilst there is no need for immediate action, if you are looking at upgrading, then you should consider the latest eco designed / compliant heating devices. These devices will feature smart technologies to minimise waste. Any additional upfront cost will be reduced over time through the efficiency of the product. Products affected by Lot20 include electric fires, underfloor heating, portable heaters and infrared heaters.

If you need advice or support with this directive then please feel free to contact us on +44 (0)1536 265316

January 2019 – Responsive Service Helps Business

This week our team responded to an emergency call out from a company in the North West of England which had completely lost power due to a water damaged 250A Schneider fuse board.

After receiving the call at 11 am in our Northampton office, it took our team just over 4 hours to collect parts and equipment and reach the site to assess the damage. By 12 pm that same day, necessary repairs had been completed and power had been fully restored in the plant – demonstrating how important a true 24-7 service can be to your business

The team completed a range of further tests and checks the following morning and then completed the process by ensuring that the customer was satisfied with the work.
